It might come as a bit of a surprise, considering idk?s long history as an indie competitor in TF2, carrying on an 11 year old competitive name. Nevertheless, it’s now official: The reigning ETF2L champions have signed with Epsilon e-Sports.

Included is their current AFS companion, Predz, who is now officially full time (part time) 3rd scout for the team. Predz was last seen offline, battling against the Windows while idk Epsilon played vs TCM last night. If you wonder who the hell this MGO is, you aren’t alone. The organization is new to TF2, but they are no new comer to competitive gaming – their Battlefield Bad Company 2 team most recently being runner up at i39 and winning Dreamhack Summer.

The team, represented by manager Oggy leaves an official statement:

It’s no surprise that we in .idk? have been looking for an org for quite some time. We spoke to quite a few over the last few months but none really stood out or went the extra mile to recruit us until Epsilon came along. We’ve already achieved a lot under our own name but now is the time to get bigger and better and we believe we can achieve that with the backing from Epsilon. They’ve shown great commitment to us over the past few weeks and we are thoroughly looking forward to repaying the faith shown by them with some great results online, at i40 and other future lans.

One of the orgs in question was none other than Fnatic. We got in touch with the other manager Slick to hear the full story.

Slick: The only org at first that caught our eye was the prestigious Fnatic. Fnatic hesitated to support TF2, so they put us on “trial”. Sadly Fnatic have decided to not follow TF2 just yet.

However things took a different turn Epsilon showed their interest in TF2, and especially idk?. The name was new to us, but once we got in talks with them, it didnt take long for us to agree on joining such an experienced org with solid player backup.

VanillaTF2: What kind of agreement do you have?

Slick: Server and voice provider, t-shirts for Lan, Lan support, bonus from management for placing top 3 in big online competitions.  Epsilon policies are 6 months trial, but an exception was made for idk? due to the immense stability we have proven over the past years. So we will exceptionally receive already partial support for i40, which is really appreciated.

VanillaTF2: What about Cube and Oggy. Are they going to return?

Cube will be playing at i40 and will be making a return before i40 to warmup with us. Afterwards we will most probably be looking for a new soldier to fill his shoes as he will have (to be confirmed) a new night job. As for Oggy, he’s stuck with the kangeroos and will keep a TF2 managing role in Epsilon.

You can hear more of what Slick has to say this Saturday at GamerFM, 14-16cet.

The full Epsilon roster looks like this:

  • Arvin “Cube” Khanchandani
  • Andrew “wai” Waite
  • Tomas “Extremer” Astrauskas
  • Anders “F2” Carstensen
  • Jaakko “JH” Hanhivaara
  • Patrick “Shintaz” Panebianco
  • Murrough “Predz” O’Brien
  • Greg “slick” Champagne – Manager
  • Dan “Oggy” Auckland – Manager

(Notice the awesome last name of Cube, as well as the Slick Champagne)

Update: Oggy wanted to add that idk? are looking for a new team to take care of the idk? legacy (+ servers and stuff).
