Top 2 from each group have qualified for the final stint of the cup. In group A Monster Munch had secured themselves a spot amongst the final 8 but they have now received 3 major penalty points which means they have been kicked from the cup and the two premier division teams will be moving on.
Joske has commented on the situation:
“AnAkIn has kicked us from EMS for receiving 3 Major PP. Our first major PP was received because we posponed our game vs. Crack Clan (Week 1) beyond ‘deadline’. The other two where because harbleu didn’t understand how to use the AC and rather than loading his game through the ESLAC Client he loaded it through his desktop.”
In group B UV-Gaming managed to beat Dignitas and they will be moving on as the top seed. This means that the playoffs look a bit funky but more on that in a bit.
There’s not much to say about group C and D, the favorites won and the standings look like many had predicted they would.
|Team Dignitas||-||Epsilon eSports|
Right off the bat we have two thrillers in vanilla. The German side, Blight Gaming, will be taking on a TCM team, which has been producing more variable results than we are used to seeing from them. It should be a good one.
As earlier mentioned Dignitas finished 2’nd in their group and as a consequence
they will be going up against another top team, Epsilon eSports. The latter have been showing ever impressive play and no matter what, then one of the favorites to win the whole tournament will be knocked down to the losers bracket after the first playoff round.
