Torden — Week 1 starts teams out on familiar turfs, Gullywash and Badlands, which should ensure a minimal amount of surprises. On the flipside, there are quite a few newforms going, with teams still building rosters and routines. The current season sees a return of the old formula of 2 equal divisions below the top, just with a change of numbers. Be it for the good or bad, what’s for certain is, there will be some uneven mixups throughout the season.

This week, Div1B’s Drosophile (idk?), Psunfragga (Crack Clan) and Skeej (Visualize Your Enmity) have joined me for predictions. You can of course do the same, in comments below. Draw is 1 map each, Win is either 2 maps won, or 1 map win + 1 map draw.

Eternity vs Decerto

The Sovietans are back together from inactivity, with a lot of suspense with regards to which level of skill they’ll land on. Traditionally, there’s always been 1 Russian team carrying the tourch perfectly between prem and div1 (or respective division names) and I won’t be surprised if they’ll do the same for s10. Looking at season predictions, Decerto plays as underdogs here, but I’ll admit I haven’t seen the team in action yet. With the latter having had a more or less stable roster for a while, this could prove to be the upset of the week.

  • Skeej: Eternity
  • Torden: Draw
  • Psunfragga, Drosophile: Decerto

Broder vs Rejects

Broder is back, and just like in season7 appears to be huge favourites for winning the season. Most of those votes come from memories of old glory, which may very well send the team on a path to the award for most overrated of the season. Nevertheless, Rejects are looking shaky, and the recent loss of 2 players won’t help their cause.

  • Skeej, Psunfragga, Drosophile, Torden: Broder

CommanderX is our Bitch vs Trick17

Perhaps one of Koeitje’s boys’ most prominent properties of the past, has been that of inconsistency. Whether or not they’ve finally found their right home remains to be seen, but in this honeymoon period, they should have a stronger team on paper. -But don’t count out the Germans just yet, manning the pivotal role as demoman, Brego may very well provide the routine and raw DM needed to keep the germans together.

  • Skeej, Drosophile, Psunfragga, Torden: CommanderX

Illegal vs Vital

Riding a Summer high, Vital has pulled a bit of a mini Yoyotech. They might be a team to keep an eye for as the season goes by, but will have a tough time against old schooling Finns this time around. Watch out for the super combo Zappis and Ziit, who’s been playing +- prem since before most of Fish’ boys discovered competitive TF2.

  • Skeej, Psunfragga, Torden: Illegal
  • Drosophile: Draw
