Torden — I started off doing div1a, moved on to include both div1′s, now with Admirable claiming to be “cured” of whatever illness he had, we’re left with yet another division stranded, so I guess I’ll focus on premiership until somebody bothers. -Perhaps the lack of coverage is deserved, considering the sporadic league play – the ETF2L list of weekly fixtures is now officially a complete mess.

Meanwhile there’s actually some high end TF2 going on, with a top scene arguably more capable and competitive than ever before. Epsilon took a surprising plunge against CKRAS and Crack Clan last week, which leaves the latter in a competitive position, alongside Relic and Infused.

Instead of bothering with trying to untangle the scheduling/reporting scores mess of weekly match ups, I’ll rather comment on the games that are so far scheduled for this week. With all 4 of the top placing teams in the wind, this week could decide who will win season 10. Helping me with predictions this week are Byte, Antyy, cOOKYE and Zebbosai.

2 out of my mentioned 4 competitors for the top spot, this game should be a spectacle. After flirting with Byte and Antyy, the choice landed on the weathered Dunc, who recently returned to the game after a longer break. Compared to Flushy, there’s a certain age difference between him and the team, which could make for the authority the team needs, or it will prove for means of frustration in the long run. As pr. honeymoon period the team has been performing well with him, even without Flisko who’s out with computer problems.

Relic has had strong games lately, both with practice and official games. It seems Larsa is fitting well in, but perhaps the biggest change is with Rybben back to more regular practice. Hooking up with the ever stable Rebeli, the light class combo has been extremely deadly, and the scouts in particular could be the perfect means to punish over extending players.

By default, Badlands should prove the most even of the 2 maps. Last time I saw Relic on Obscure was against my own team on old obscure – they had decided they didn’t have the practice to play middles, and instead went with counter pushes with heavy use of Darn’s sniper abilities. If they do it again, it could be their best bet to fighting a team that’s most likely miles ahead with regards to experience with the map.

Losing maps last week, Epsilon showed they’re far from unbeatable. One of their unexpected losses were on Gravel Pit, question is, will they stick the course with playing the map after ETF2L allowed teams to choose a different one? For Crack Clan’s success this past week, a key element was taking care of  Knoxxx. -While he doesn’t get much credit, his understanding of the game and specifically the medic role, makes him pivotal to F2‘s survival. Another thing was their seemingly random aggression, which left Epsilon out of their comfort zone, which made this consistent crew make several unusual mistakes.

Difference against Infused, they should know what to expect, and have a perfect track record after several official encounters. If they can keep their composure against the baiting behaviour of Greg and Numlocked, and pick Infused’s players 1 by 1, they should have an easy advantage, even against superior death matching skills.  It’s been sporadic exercise for Slick’s crew in the recent past, if they get back to routine, I still hold them as big favourites to take both maps.

With mid season roster changes, it’s been a terrible #10 for the Finns. Hymzi is still getting warmed up to the idea of once again shooting stickies, and the teamplay between Cookye and his new partner Longas is at an infancy, if it will ever be as good as with Hymzi. In long term, the team is far from down and out, but for the time being, I have a tough time seeing them threaten opponents with several months worth of head start.

Speaking of which, Crack Clan is looking very strong at the moment, finding some form of hive mind that works despite lack of a real main caller. They’ve got a great track record on Obscure, the only thing I can see possibly destroying any of that, is Cookye having a strong day with the sniper rifle. As for badlands, the real maverick of Crack Clan is Pescanova, who often works as a distraction showing up in the least expected of places. If the “Finns” can turn off their aggression to deal with him before attacking, they should stand a decent chance at accessing the queen bee, Retshock.

Aside from the depressing site of TCM’s last breath, I have still yet to see Equilibrium in real action. They managed beating Crack Clan in a one-rounder this most recent Dignitas cup, but got blown off 2 maps against Relic. If they will stand a fighting chance, it would be on a more strategical map such as granary, but sorry portos, I doubt it.
