Torden unavailable due to work commitments, it’s been left to baddies like me to provide some form of post. According to 
m0re, a TF2 tournament at winter assembly looks to be off the cards. With this news, top level TF2 has lost one of it’s iconic teams: 
Team Dignitas, formerly Power Gaming, have folded – we’re unsure as to whether the lack of a winter LAN in Finland is the main reason behind it although as these articles are interactive and a constant development I’m sure some comments can help enlighten us on the situation.
The teams Scouts, cookye and 
longas, are in the process of finding a new team with the Finn having joined newly promoted the Spaniard making a recruitment post on ETF2L. Longas also confirmed in IRC that the remaining members of Dignitas, 
Broder and hocz; hymzi; kyynel & Haza, have no intention of playing TF2 anymore. He also confirmed the lack of a winter assembly was the sole reason behind the team folding.
Although unconfirmed (from a reliable source, anyway), news of CKRAS is making it’s way down the grapevine – keep us posted on this development.

I’ve never said to anyone that I’m leaving ckras/tf2, neither that we would fold.

Update #2: It would appear cookye has found himself a new full time spot at 
Infused.Tt alongside 
Greg and replacing pistol extraordinaire 
quad. The main reason behind this change is that the Dane is unable to attend the upcoming insomnia events, i45 and i46, due to real life issues and the team wish to run a player they can take to LAN with them.

Don’t blame Assembly really, TF2 isn’t really a big attraction for them, but it’d be nice to see what it’s being replaced by.

There’s plenty of LoL tournaments on the go with big money as it is, and Dota 2 is still in beta phase so you can’t really expect a decent lan representation (in finland of all countries) without running a big money invite tournament.
HoN on the other hand is really lacking a decent lan event, so they’ll welcome something like assembly. At worst they just go “oops, well that didn’t work” and host a LoL/Dota 2 tourney at SASM.

In other news… I can’t imagine it being HoN in honesty as it seems a little odd with the game in it’s current form (in a state of make or break). But if that is the case maybe S2 could be doing some funding as they literally made shit tonne this christmas in sales. BLOODHUNTER SHARK AVATAR?

- # - nice! +3S2 Games (developer of Hon) is actually sponsoring money for Hon-tourney of Lantrek-lan, which is happening on next week (the biggest lan event after Assembly-lans in Finland), so i don’t see why they wouldn’t make the same for Assembly.

Idk about dead, but HoN is pretty much terminal. TF2 must be 6ft under for them to replace it with HoN…
Oh well, at least they are going to support a game that needs it. Pity its not a good game.

- # - nice! +6I don’t really like the genre. There is nothing specific to HoN that makes me dislike it, just that style of “MOBA” or w/e the kids define it. I used to play HoN somewhat competitively, I even ran some HoN tournaments for GameReplays for a little while, so my opinion isn’t some snap judgement based on what I’ve seen in screenshots or heard from friends.
Extremely steep learning curve, long games not divided by rounds with a sort of snowball effect where early errors can haunt you for the entire game, long “garbage time”, passive games boring to play and spectate. Some games can be great, like Chen in the 1mil finals was constantly being a total pimp, but for every game like that there are 2 or 3 where you watch a AM or a Doom or a Spectre playing PvE. Or some Chinaman get Vanguard, Hood and Heart on SK before Dagger (lol)
Also I am mad because WTF HAPPENED TO FPS GAMES?

It is terrible that no one warned of the fact that if the community didn’t help out, such as getting writers and commenting on new sites such as Cadred, or simply going to LANs, then TF2 would lose LANs and players. Imagine what we could have done if someone had told us.
