Califax — As most of you guessed correctly, Crack Clan’s very own  Gabriel “Longás” Longás was the one answering the questions in The Guess-Who-Interview #1.

Some of you have suggested this first one was a bit easy, but again, the goal is not to make it extremely hard on you guys. Though I can’t promise they won’t be more difficult in the future… ^^

Anyway, here’s interview #2! Read on and post below who you think it is!

Tell us, who is your father, who is your mother?

My father is called Allan and is a nearly-retired Librarian. My mother is called Lesley and she’s a Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages. They’ve been married for nearly 35 years. I have one sister, who is married and has recently had a baby, so I’m now an uncle and a godfather!

Where were you born? Where is your home?

I was born in Princess Mary Hospital in Jesmond, less than a mile from the City Centre, in 1985. I’ve always lived around this area, though now I live a little nearer the coast. I currently rent a house with my best mate Rich. Though if he keeps whoring my bandwidth when I’m trying to pwn some noobs, we might not be friends for much longer…… Both him and my girlfriend accept my gaming, but it’s still the occasional cause for mockery, so I’m not sure I’d class them as supportive!

What do you do when you’re not gaming?

I studied toward a First in Computer Science with Advanced Systems Development which included a year in Industry. I finished studying three years ago and I now work as a Virtual Learning Environment Manager for a Trust of 5 schools. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, bathing, reading and socialising, in that order.

What has your gaming-life looked like so far, outside of TF2?

I’m sure I played some games before it, but I’ll have to apologise as my childhood memories are somewhat fuzzy at the best of times. Quake 2 was my first game, I played it “competitively” as part of the Savage CTF community. Other than that and TF2, I’m a huge MMO fan. I’ve played every major MMO that has existed to date, apart from Eve and the latest Star Wars incarnation. I’ve already pre-ordered GW2 and will be looking forward to that.

These days though, Dota 2 is my favourite game by far. I love the competitive scene and watch as many TobiWan livestreams as I can find the time for. I also thoroughly enjoy watching SingSing’s livestream – the guy is talented, but more importantly, fucking hilarious.  My all-time favourite games would have to be EverQuest > Q2CTF > TF2 in that order because of the awesome times I had with friends in each game.

Tell us a bit about your TF2 career?

I actually got into TF2 because I injured my knee playing football. I was playing 4 evenings/week then I tore my cruciate ligament and cartilage. The former went undiagnosed for nearly 14 months and the NHS managed to trim the wrong side of my cartilage in the first operation. Three operations later I’ll never be able to run again, so I guess gaming has become my football. And thus my stress relief…

I played with Fight Club: United Kingdom as a few of my friends from the aforementioned Q2CTF community joined. We originally played 8v8 crits but slowly moved toward having a 6v6 no crits squad too. The guy that ran the team was a bit of a numpty so we formed a break-away team with the best/most interested players. I’ve been fortunate to play alongside some incredible players as we worked our way up the divisions, from skre and swetur to weqo and sommie and many others in between. I’ve met some really cool people, and some utter fucking retards. Where is Fragga these days?

My current team is the first TF2 team I’ve enjoyed playing with since the peak of MY team mentioned above. The balance is perfect – some awesome banter, some genuine praise and the ability to argue a point (we all want to improve) but then instantly forget about it and get on with the game.

If you could include yourself in your personal all-time favorite line-up, who would be your teammates?

If I had the choice to play with any group of players I could, I’d actually want to separate it into two teams. My first team would be the guys that I’ve most enjoyed playing with in the past, including Haza & Evil, snap, skre & weqo with Sommie as super-sub.

If I was to choose the best line-up I could possibly think of, I certainly wouldn’t include me! I’d opt for F2, Punpu and Mike, numlocked, stefan and bybben. Saying that, it’s impossible to choose a “best 6″ these days, as until you get the players together and try certain playstyles, you’ll never really know who will truly play to their potential.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years, in life and gaming?

I’ll be buying my own house at the end of this rental year, and in 5 years time I’d like to think I’ll have moved in with my lovely lady. I run a fishkeeping website with one of my close friends Matt and we’re just about to launch the re-developed website with paid Premium Content etc. so I’m hoping that will have taken off by then so I can cut down the hours on my dayjob, or quit it entirely. I doubt I’ll be playing TF2 in 5 years time, and I’m getting a bit old for competitive gaming, so I’ll likely just play some low-level Dota 2 or get absorbed into Guild Wars 2.

And lastly, can you tell us something no one in the TF2 community knows about you?

Err, I’m not exactly a secretive person, so I’m not sure what to say. Is it a secret that I’ve been having an affair with Shintaz’ Mum? She took pity on me after i40.

No, OK, srs note. I was a BeThere (UK broadband company) Gaming Hero, and received 2 years (which actually ended up being 5 because they forgot) free BroadBand at my parents’ house. Woot! :D

I want to thank the interviewee for answering the question, and wish him the best of luck with all his future endeavours. Look forward to my next interview to find out if you guessed correctly who it actually was!
