Due to some of the current staff members of VanillaTV having something called ‘a life’ (I heard this is overrated anyway), VanillaTV are looking for more members of staff to join the team.

For both streaming and casting roles, it’s imperative that you can regularly be available during the week. This means that if you are only available for 1 or 2 nights a week, then it’s probably not much help to us. Most of the people who offer to help stream or cast for VanillaTV do not realise this. Nevertheless, if you feel that you can dedicate a bit of time to helping the community out, then read on!
Streamers
Streaming is obviously an important role within VTV. As we are currently lacking in this department, this is our main priority.
Ideally you’ll fit the following criteria:
- A working knowledge of Xsplit/other streaming software (not essential, but a bonus)
- Willing and able to stream a fair amount of nights – bear in mind a lot of games will start at 21:15 CEST, although nights where cups are involved can run earlier/later
- A suitable upload speed – around 2.5mbit is the minimum needed for a high quality stream
- A pc setup that can run TF2 comfortably on Max settings, or as close to as possible, no one wants to watch a minecraft version of TF2 being streamed!
- The ability to work well within a team
Casters
We are always on the lookout for talented and enthusiastic casters to join our team. If you feel like having your voice reverberating through the internet, you should…
- Be willing and able to set aside a few nights to cast
- Have a decent quality microphone
- A good understanding of the game, noone wants to listen to someone who doesn’t understand what’s going on.
- Work well in a team
Floor Managers
Though this isn’t a huge priority at the moment, if we think that
Trell deserves a break once in a while from doing my job, there may be room for another floor manager position. Floor Managers are the guys who co-ordinate everything during, and before casts to ensure the experience to the end user is as smooth. Currently this involves:
- Liaising with the streamer and casters to make sure everyone is where they should be at the correct time
- Ensuring STV and Relays are up and running fine – This means hassling teams/players to get the right details early
- Making sure a VanillaTF2 post is done plenty of time prior to the game(s)
- Ensuring Steam Group announcements are made prior to the game(s)
- Making sure the Vanilla Bot has the correct !upcoming list, and announces to all channels with information about the game(s)
While we can’t promise you’ll be the next Mr-Wrangler-Airshot aka
CUBE, for big events (such as i46) VanillaTV may be able to help provide funding for you to go and help with the coverage.
If you think you fit the criteria for any of these positions, please apply by contacting Byte, Trell or Comedian by email and on irc.

hah yeah i had considered this after, but cba to change it :p
I like tho ;)
- # - nice! +0Good pic, but needs more stickies.
Maybe in a couple of months, after I’ve actually graduated. Just a friendly warning: don’t try and get it covered by one person so it doesn’t all fall apart like last time.
- # - nice! +2I already have made myself available to help me VanillaTV with Streaming, but recently i lost my graphic card (HD6790) and now i got a HD(5770) that doesn’t really allow me to stream decently.
At the end of the month am getting myself a (560 Ti) which will allow me to stream using the Chris Max Quality at 4x AA and 16x AF.
CPU: INTEL CORE i5 2500K
Motherboard: ASROCK H61M-S
RAM: KINGSTON 8GB DDR3 1333MHZ
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II/OC
As Koeitje mentioned, don’t rely on just one person or else it gets to become a burden. I myself am not avaiable every night and i doubt other people are. If somehow we can get a team of 2-3 Streamers then we will be more than able to cover the whore season of Premier Division.
- # - nice! +3Chris HQ is more than enough. There won’t be any noticeable difference on stream between that and max…
However your right, I doubt a 5770 will do the job.
- # - nice! +1I think the “be able to run TF2 on max settings” criterion was only to ensure that you have a powerful PC which is able to cope with running the game and encoding a stream at the same time. I imagine Chris’s DX9frames at fps_max 60 would look good enough for the actual stream, which a 5770 is definitely capable of at 1280×720.
- # - nice! +1As soon as i get the new card (560 Ti), i will be able to start streaming straight away as i already have the xSplit configured thanks to my bro Comedian :D We will need more people if we truly want to cover the whole Premier Division though, what i am hoping is that by next season, we will have atleast 3 Streamers and a few casters that will make it so that we can stream all the top 3 matches through out the whole season. As a viewer it was a bit of a disappointment to not be able to watch a few games casted already in the beginning of the season but hopefully things will get better.
- # - nice! +2Maybe not forget about those who actually signed up months ago to help :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))
- # - nice! +3we’re sorting that out as we speak!
- # - nice! +1cp_vanilla
- # - nice! +6How about a position for actual viewers. 90 viewers for top end TF2 League matches is a joke, matches need to be scheduled at other times then 21cet and teams need to actually be interested enough to cancel their pcw’s to watch the stream, which in return will lead to improvement in casting/streaming, since more return etc………
90? At least 130 man are you crazy. This ain’t cido vs badmen!
- # - nice! +1That gully though…
- # - nice! +0I wasn’t talking about our shitnerd match, I was actually surprsied it was that many viewers. Talking about prem and shizzle
- # - nice! +1I dunno man. I mean that’s not really our fault.
At the end of the day all we can do is try our hardest to put on the best show possible on a regular basis and hope people watch it.
- # - nice! +1Yes, I know, Jason already pointed it out, I didn’t mean it towards vanillatv, but the community itself.
- # - nice! +2I’m sure there are alot more people that want to watch the matches on prem-level. But we also have to play pcw/leagues around 21:00. After that I always try to watch the remaining minutes on STV of a prem-match, if the match is still being played. On the other hand, we can’t ask prem teams to play earlier/later. They too have people that need to get up early. That’s why I love VOD’s, I always watch those, cuz I can just pick my own time :)
And don’t forget that vacations, exams, diablo III, all have their impact on the current view-count :)
- # - nice! +0Muhahahaha

- # - nice! +1Id love to give casting a shout ! *Unavoidable pun* Told that I have a good voice, admittedly I can be hard to hard to understand if I start talking fast, I blame that on my Irish Accent ;)

- # - nice! +0Fill in an open mic form to apply!
- # - nice! +0If there is any space for new casters I wouldn’t mind giving it a go. I’ve done a few matches before with WAR and really enjoyed it a lot.
example : www.youtube.com/watch?v=5v2kaC...
Not sure how i would do casting with teams i don’t know anything about

- # - nice! +0hey byte I contacted comedian last week about the shoutcasting, that still cool or do I have to contact you?

- # - nice! +1rather watch a minecraft version of the game than a caster that has no clue where to position the “camera”…
