Darkdwarf — The third group of our tournament is one of the more interesting ones.  Sweden may be predestined to take first place (Moder Svea fighting!), but the second place finish will be highly contested by  Belgium and  Scotland.  Luxembourg is also in the mix, ready to surprise and steal a few points here and there, although they shouldn’t. Luxembourg vs Belgium will offer us an interesting hint towards what country in the Benelux really is the best at TF2, and Scotland will show their love for the Nordic Countries when they fight Sweden in week three.

Belgium

Besides having mapmaker-king  Arnold on the important cart-pushing role of scout, Belgium is also offering us two players from the extraordinary team  SNSD –  Droso and  Beef. Standout star in the roster should be  Luzzu, who has risen quickly in the 6v6 scene lately. A whole nation (almost) will be at their toes, hoping that Luzzu hits his airshots everytime they’re let loose, when Belgium encounters their enemies in Luxembourg. A player who maybe will shine is  Coco, who has spent the last 6v6 season together with highlander veterans  TheSucker and  Cyber in  d?s. Managing the team in their medic position will be  Hatch, a veteran from the Highlander Challenge playoffs some years ago. Belgium looks strong heading into the group stage.

Sweden

Sweden is one of the favorites to win the whole tournament, and rightly so. Their (our) lineup looks sick with players like  TviQ, who can headshot anybody, anytime,  BeaVerN, with his ridiculuos scattergun aim,  wltrs, hands down the best spy in tf2 (maybe after  Shintaz) and multiclasser  Zebbosai. As if those 6v6 pros wasn’t enough, Sweden also has highlander seniors like  Alx,  s3, and  furbo, from SNSD and  Colony. This is enough to punch through any other team in the tournament, but then again, Sweden should have been able to take a Nations Cup trophy some time in the past, yet have failed to do so. Maybe Sweden will falter when the pressure mounts up later in the playoffs?

Luxembourg

Luxembourg’s national team is led by  Netsky, who during the last season pushed his team  MTF straight out of division 6G. He and a couple of other players on the team has been playing together on and off since season two, however, they’ve never rose further than division four. That would mean they have solid relations inside their team, but not so solid skillz. From looking at their ETF2L pages they don’t seem to have a lot of experience from highlander, which really won’t play in their favor. This is the same team that will participate in the 6v6 Nations Cup in a few weeks, so this will be a sneak peak for all their future opponents.

Scotland

O flower of Scotland, when will we see your like again, that stood against proud Edward’s army? Not in this tournament, you won’t. The day when Scotland beats England I’ll eat my hat and post the video on youtube. Despite not being able to beat England, Scotland actually have some quite good players on their roster, amongst others  _Ben,  oronoc,  Thalien, and  r7an of  Decerto fame. They weren’t able to have a real impact in the Premier Division last season, but maybe they can prove themselves in the highlander scene instead. Another player looking to prove himself to his haters is one of our beloved Pirate Radio hosts – CommanderX. Question is: can they?
