Unless you have been living in a cave under a rock, then you will know about the kings amongst men that are over at eXtelevision organising the fundraising efforts for sponsoring the two best North American teams to cross the Atlantic and get over to Telford, United Kingdom and compete at this summer’s big event – Multiplay’s Insomnia 46. In order to help raise money towards the donation fund - which you can find embedded below - VanillaTV will host a night of exhibition matches over the next two weekends between the top two teams in North America:
Leviathan Gaming and
Classic Mixup and the top two teams currently in Europe:
Epsilon eSports and
TCM-Gaming.
The two American teams that qualified through the eXtv-hosted i46 qualifiers were Classic Mixup in 1st place and ESEA LAN champions Leviathan Gaming as runners-up, meaning that Mixup will be made the primary benefactors of the donation fund and LG will only be able to get to i46 if we can donate around $15-20,000. The current fundraising pot stands at roughly a quarter of what is needed to get both teams to i46 so if we want to see some of TF2′s best players such as pipe God
Grant ”b4nny” Vincent and meat hitter
Matt ”clckwrk” Dias competing against the best Europe has to offer, we’re going to have to step it up with donations, showing that European hospitality which sees
Darn never run out of alcohol at every i-series event.
The exhibition matches will be divided into two Sundays due to timezone constraints:

The first matchup will be this weekend, Sunday 22nd of July starting at 21.15 CEST (16.15 EST) between ETF2L runners-up TCM Gaming and ESEA LAN runners-up Classic Mixup. The game will be a best of 3 map series with each teams picking 1 map each and playing one on a home server. The ruleset and maps will be the same as i46 meaning teams will play with the vanilla rulset plus 30 minute maps with a win difference of 5 and golden caps to decide ties. Two of TF2′s greatest minds from both sides of the pond in
Brad “PYYYOUR” Ross from Mixup and
Ahmad “Byte” Fansa from TCM will have a chance to test their wits against eachother in this pre-LAN feeler which will give both teams a first hand look at the different playstyles involved. This game will be casted by VanillaTV by
Greg and
cbear to ensure there will be quality casting and borderline ethics alike.

The second matchup will be current ESEA LAN champions Leviathan Gaming versus ETF2L Season 12 winners Epsilon eSports being played next weekend on Sunday 29th July. The game will start at the same time of 21.15 CEST (16.15 EST) with the same best of 3 map series and ruleset as the first game. The match features some of the best TF2 talent in the world with the likes of previous Scouts of the season
schocky and
Shintaz on scout for Epsilon versus the miracle maker
b4nny on Demoman for LG who is known by many as the ”best player in the world”. This game will be casted live on VanillaTV with another combo, this time with Byte himsef, Ireland’s prodigal casting son
Admirable on the mic and TF2′s very own Jon Stewart
djc to represent the NA scene.
With such a great night of TF2 in store, we’re bound to get our money’s worth in entertainment as we aim to end these age-old arguments over which continent is better at TF2 – NA or EU? Is it better to give an uber to a Soldier or a Demoman? Are American’s really better at DM or can European Soldiers indeed airstrafe? To find out the answers to these questions and many more we really need to help in anyway possible towards the eXtv donation drive, so once again I urge all of you viewers to chip in any amount of money you can – instead of getting drunk this weekend why not donate the nights beer fund towards this great event and get the chance of drinking these soft yanks under the table. Please check out the donation box at the top and give from your hearts, if you can’t chip in any money then you can still donate TF2 items to an auction which will go towards raising funds to the cause – check the link below. If we can get both American teams to i46 this summer it will surely go down as the greatest LAN ever seen for TF2 with almost 400 people confirmed in going so far!

TweetGreat initiative, looking forward to it!
The chip-in shown here is not up-to-date.
- # - nice! +1It shows 2k in the bank, but according to the one on extelevision.com it should be almost 5k.
It’s your end, I had huge problems with it too. Something to do with Flash caching on your local computer. 4711 is what I see atm.
- # - nice! +3right click the widget
settings > folder icon > how much information can www.chipin.com store on your computer > 0 KB
this will stop it caching an out of date balance
- # - nice! +5Big ups to Admirable for organising it so soon!
“TF2 with almost 400 people confirmed in going so far!”
Just seen Christopher Down booked. Hoping Multiplay still have some wheelchairs available for rent.
Admirable is a boss, getting shit done!
@atmo, you are a god send with that, been frustrating the crap out of me since we started x.x
- # - nice! +6Superb!
- # - nice! +5I’d like to see a game played with European rules and a game played with US rules. Every time we’ve had an EU vs US match, it’s always been under EU rules.
- # - nice! +4might have something to do with your superiour ruleset and such.
Well it’s supposed to be an sexhibition of what the fans can expect to see at i46, which will be EU rules! :>
Well yeah, obviously, but still. It’s not like we’re going to send an EU team to an ESEA LAN, so when are we going to see EU vs US under US rules? WHY NOT NOW? WHY NOT NOW ADMIRABLE?
- # - nice! +5i will donate once they reach 6000 otherwise I don’t have faith in this ever happening
- # - nice! +0Pyyyour posted the planetickets for mixup have been bought last night.
Teams already have their plane tickets, seats at i46, computers to play on and everything else is in line! This is happening and holding out isn’t helping anyone!
both teams?!
- # - nice! +0oh, no. Just mixup right now, sorry I pluralized teams. We need a huge surge in donations to be able to send 2 teams as we are only halfway to one right now.
- # - nice! +4Where are they seated?
- # - nice! +0for right now, in the TUP area, if we get enough money to pay the 1200 pound deposit, we will get them to move into the main area (also if we can get a sponsor to get them computers, which isnt looking good right now)
- # - nice! +2Why haven’t you made a HUGE deal about this? EU needs to get more hyped!
- # - nice! +2because it happened late last night and I havent gotten that far down on my list of things to do today. How do you suggest making a big deal about this? Pure posted about it himself on the ETF2L thread dedicated to the Americans at i46.
- # - nice! +1Mr.drshdwpuppet, if that is your real name, may I suggest you also cross promote your items donation/auction stuff on top of this post and these events and the chipin stuff.
I shall be gifting much of my backpack (except my pink Gibus because I’m fucking pro) to the cause, but I keep needing to be reminded to do this as I’m stupid.
- # - nice! +1Donate to the cause!! Get our team (LG) to EU!! Our team has been trying to raise awareness through my streaming @ www.twitch.tv/tyreeze , hopefully this tournament will give the kick we need to get us to EU! Thanks for all the support and we’re extremely thankful for the opportunity!
We’re helping as much as we can – we want to see 2 teams @ i46 as much as you guys do. Plus I want to fanboi clckwrk in person, but thats a personal thing ;)
- # - nice! +6Thank you so much for the support, add me on steam, we’ll do everything we can to make this process easier and we’ll do our best to promote. We haven’t given up yet, we’re still fighting to fulfill our dreams of going and competing in EU!!
- # - nice! +3I will donate $1 for every time Tyrone dies at the start of a push and they still succeed =D
someone from vanillatv should get with me about details so I can get a video about the events up on the extv channel ASAP, the next extravision wont be out in time for this sunday’s event, so I want something to go up, might get extine to do a vlog.
- # - nice! +4steamcommunity.com/id/trellUKC... – surprised you don’t have me on friends already :P
- # - nice! +1I added you and admirable, I am recording right now so my steam is off, hit you up when done.

- # - nice! +2Just did some mad coin flips and match picks with PYYYOUR and Zebbosai:
Map 1: Mixup’s pick to be played on EU server: Granary
Map 2: TCM’s pick to be played on NA server: Badlands
Map 3: TCM’s pick to be played on EU server: Snakewater
TCM get lucky, but will it hold out? Tune in on Sunday to find out :D
- # - nice! +7I’m afraid TCM will get destroyed, I got the feeling Epsilon is the only team who can contest the NA peeps. Infused might also be to with their new scout combo.
- # - nice! +6I know there hasn’t been any TF2 news on there in quite some time. But has anyone thought about asking Cadred to pop a little news about this on their website to trying and expand the awareness in the overall gaming community? Has to be worth a go.
- # - nice! +3Unfortunately, you would think any sort of “good points” surrounding e-sports are shared with other enthusiasts over at Cadred
Alas, with Gonzo still in place as editor and proven he is unable to open his mind for topical debate, I don’t think we should approach them.
We have reached a substantial target after walking a different path and without the help of Cadred or their readers (comments not aimed at them)I don’t think our paths should be re-aligned now when actually the ball sits firmly with us.
Gonzo – If you do read this, I welcome you to have an open debate with me surrounding e-sports and image on the whole at i46. Just please note, before you get on your high horse, my thoughts are my own and I don’t represent anyone or anything to do with Vanilla TV.
- # - nice! +5GOGO TCM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- # - nice! +3“Teams already have their plane tickets, seats at i46, computers to play on and everything else is in line! This is happening and holding out isn’t helping anyone!”
So if Mix^ have everything paid for, then surely everything from this point onwards is for Leviathan?? I don’t really get how we are ‘halfway to sending one team’ if everything has been paid for mix^.
- # - nice! +3I understand that Sal paid for it all upfront, so donations are just paying back his very generous outlay.
To get LG to i46 we really need to kick things up a gear!
this is a part of it, also we do not have hotels, on ground transpo and a few other odds and ends paid in full. Currently, we are estimating to be out another 4k give or take. I was referring to how plans are in place for everything, we are just waiting on funding then we can move on everything.
- # - nice! +2Prediction:
Granary (EU): 5 – 2 TCM
Badlands (US): 5 – 0 Mixup
Snakewater (EU): 4 – 2 TCM
TCM take it, but Mixup will dominate more when on their home server.
- # - nice! +4Just laid down some audio for an eXtv promo vlog. Get hyped! :D
- # - nice! +6www.youtube.com/watch?v=ey5E3s...
- # - nice! +4Also looks like moose AKA dabes will be standing in for ruwin.

- # - nice! +0this games should be played in azores islands (Portugal) this islands are situated in the middle of North Atlantic Ocean. ^^
- # - nice! +5Get a server there and I’m sure everyone would love it.

- # - nice! +1You can enter the time + timezone into WolframAlpha: www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=...
- # - nice! +0While it’s easy to find as others have pointed out, I kind of agree, a count down feature could actually be quite nice, at least for matches supposed to be played the same day. Although, it’s not that important for the standard 2115-games, but when lans and tournaments come around its nice, I think.
- # - nice! +4you can (almost) always find scheduled matches and stuff with a countdown timer here on the right sidebar:
teamfortress.tv/
- # - nice! +1Thanks, guys. And I agree re the countdown. fuarking 3:15am for me =/
