Trell — Tonight sees the first semi final of ETF2L’s 6v6 Nations Cup, as the rescheduled match between  England and  Denmark kicks off at 21:15 CEST.  Originally slated to be played on Sunday, due to a combination of  numlocked and  Hat unavailable to play, it was pushed back to today.  The second Semi between  USA and  Sweden will be played this coming Sunday, eventually giving us our two finalists.

England, led by numlocked, managed to top Group F after convincing 6-0 wins over both  Spain and  Hungary, and a default win against  Canada.  After advancing to the playoffs, they had an easy ride in the first round with a default win against  Norway.  The quarter finals were up next with a match vs arch rivals  Germany.  Played as a best of 3 format, England won the first two maps, but only just – the scores on both were 4-3 in favour of the Englishmen.

Denmark, with the fan favourite  F2 at the helm, had a bit more of a rocky ride to the playoff stages, winning vs  Scotland and  Austria 6-0, but losing 0-6 to Sweden (who, as mentioned are the one of the other Semi finalists).  Cue round 1 of the playoffs, and it looked as if Denmark were going to throw it away in their game vs  Israel, with  Retshock and co taking the first map, Badlands, 4-1.  Luckily, Denmark woke up and managed to take Gullywash 6-1, bringing it to a third map, Snakewater, which Denmark succesfully controlled, winning 4-1 and scheduling a quarter final appearance for them.  Their next game was vs  Portugal, which was a close affair, but they pulled it off with a 3-2 and 5-3 win across Gullywash and Granary respectively.

On paper, you’d be inclined to say the English team looks stronger, but the maps for tonight are Gullywash, Snakewater and Granary (apparently), which Denmark have proved they excel at, especially when they are the underdogs.  Tonight should be a very close game – and with  Angel putting $1234 up for the eventual winning team of this third Nations Cup, I’m sure all players will want to reach and go on to win the final.

Tune in from 21:00 CEST tonight with  Comedian on the stream, and  Pledge and  Skully casting to catch the action as it happens!
