Nymthae — With less than two weeks until the event there’s the odd thing that you can do beforehand, to help things run more smoothly.

1. Sign up on clanforge – Open the tournament page and click ‘I want to play in this!’

Multiplay are requesting a 12 pm close on signups (Fri 22nd Aug). This means if your team does not have 6 players by this point it will  be dropped automatically. I can’t do anything to override that, and as much as I can delay the close they will eventually come along and end up doing it themselves.

Make sure you’re logging in with the Multiplay account your i52 ticket is booked with. You cannot sign up to the tournament without a BYOC ticket for this event.

2. Arrange to get there on time!

If you’re a team that is going to be placed within the top 8 group – games will start at 3 pm. This cannot be moved any later, due to the volume of games that need to be played. Games will be defaulted if a team is not present within the allocated time. The purpose of this group is for action (hype!) and serves to seed teams into the elimination rounds. Even if you lose (or forfeit) every game, you will proceed to the knockouts so let it be known I have no reservations about handing out defaults to keep the tournament running on time.

If you know you’ve no chance at being seeded within the top 8 then it is the intention your games will start at 5 pm. This is subject to change depending on how many teams sign up. The latest these groups will start is 6 pm.

The group stages will be finished by Friday night. Elimination games will start at 10 am on Saturday.

3. Start idling in #i52.tf2 (quakenet)

This will be the main source of live information at the event. I’d recommend making sure you’re set up so you don’t miss anything early on.

4.  Get practicing!

Well, why not? I want to see some action. You need Team Immunity style commitment.

The map pool consists of:

  • cp_badlands
  • cp_gullywash_final1
  • cp_granary
  • cp_snakewater_final1
  • cp_process_final
  • koth_pro_viaduct_rc4

5. Get hyped!

If you haven’t realised it yet, this event will be awesome. Multiplay have been kind enough to provide us with our very own casting stage again, headed by the fantastic production team coming to the event. Prepare yourself for non-stop TF2 action.
