Trell — On reflection, the title of this post sounds a lot grander than it should have done…but I’m going to roll with it anyway.  Holding down the ‘David’ spot in our story, it’s the Premiership newcomers, Broder, promoted last season from the dizzying heights of Division 1a, but now missing their illustrious leader,  Torden, who has moved on to pastures new (real life pastures, none of these video game trivialities most of us rely on).  According to one of my sources, Broder have been performing ‘Pretty good to be fair’ in PCW’s, and ‘zebb has brains’  - but how will this hold up against what is arguably one of the top 2 teams in EU TF2 right now?

The team looking to act out Goliath in tonights clash is the infamous Team Infused (no longer Infused.Tt, but  Greg reliably informs me that they are still sponsors, just not title sponsors), who, as mentioned are regarded as being in the top 2 EU competitive teams and have enjoyed considerable success over the past few months.  It seems the only thorn in their side has been the in form  Epsilon, who manage to outfox them in nearly every game.  Surely this means that Infused will be looking to pick up as many points as possible outside of their eventual game versus Epsilon.

Trell — That’s right ladies and gentlemen (to coin a certain persons phrase), you can join VanillaTV Open Mic for some premiership action tonight!  Both teams in action tonight are kicking off their start to Season 11 in their new division – Yoyotech were promoted last season from Division 1b, and Exotic gained promotion from Division 1a.

Trell — Vanilla TV swing back into regular action tonight with  Comedian and  Chaplain bringing you coverage of the Division 2C game between Outsiders and Team Insolence.  This week 1 game should prove to be an engaging spectacle, with OutSiders relatively new to ETF2L, having only previously participated in the one night foundry cup prior to Season 11, and Team Insolence having been dropped into division 2C after coming third in Division 3b in Season 10.

Sakura — eXtv will be casting an exciting matchup between two ESEA-IM teams on new territory! Join Greaver and crew as they cast  Beybladers vs.  Mayhem on cp_croissant_b10, the banana-shaped map, and cp_standin_b9, the crazy map with 3 capture points! eXtv will be also joined by the map creators,  Arnold and Scorpiouprising respectively. Galant — We have launched our russian series of Night Cups right after success of Albert’s Cups during last summer. Since then every cup is gaining 16 teams, the last one – #5 called “New Year Special” (brackets) – has provided interesting games on snow maps (such as old obscure and coldfront) in chase of winning 100$. This time the 6th cup called “PreSeason” will bring again 100$ to the strongest team and games on maps from ETF2L Season 11 map-pool: cp_freight, cp_gullywash, cp_snakewater and cp_granary.

Cup will start today at 18:00 cet. Brackets will be published here.

Our american friend  Salamancer will cast all rounds on his  SalTV, and  competitf TV will mix some lovely music and insight of the game by team  ISIS as far they will proceed in this tournament.

Admirable — Last night we saw the Premiership get off to a punctual, yet flaccid start with the might Epsilon eSports riding roughshod over well-intentioned Tryharders in a 6-1 6-1 stompfest.  Some would say that the top level of our competitive scene is a in a state of transition, whilst others have already called the time of death, so I have set off on the hunt for some juicier fixtures for you, the loyal spectators, to feast upon.

In my daily routine of circling over VanillaTF2 and the ETF2L like some sort of  cyber vulture, waiting to peck the eyes of unsuspecting nerds on their last legs, I spotted an intriguing post from Russian millionaire-playboy-philanthropist-come-ETF2L-Admin, Angel.  In it the man behind the Ultiduo revolution, who is never scared to put his money where his mouth is, declares quite matter-of-factly that he will give $200 to the “first man who correctly predict first three places in the right order for group 2B” only to up the stakes again moments later with an additional $300 for the second person to correctly predict the outcome of Division 2B.

Only an hour old and already speculation was rife on the thread about potential match fixing and Angel had once again caught the attention of the community with his random acts of generosity, but that was not all the man with the money had to say on the matter.  A second update came thick and fast with our Russian benefactor announcing that the winner of Division 2B would now receive $600, again from his own pocket!  When forumites inquiries moved to gain some insight to his motives, he offered up the following:

Trath — Well the first Premiership match of the season is here.  Who would have thought that Prem teams would actually play their games on time? It is a new age for TF2!  Truth be told – this dosen’t seem like an exciting match on the face of it; the defending champions Epsilon eSports are huge favorites, whilst the unproven Tryharders have a really, really small chance. But you know how it goes… it ain’t over til the fat lady sings.

 Tryharders have been trying hard, playing a lot for the past two weeks.  They picked up Super Scouts  Longas and  EstaniS, as well as crazy jew demoman  Erectus.  While nobody thinks much of their soldiers, and most high level players dislike  Taimou‘s aggressive style of play, they are rumoured to be working on some oddball strategies that nobody has prepared for yet.   Epsilon have been on a roll for a very long time.  I cant remember the last time they lost a match, if ever.  Nobody can argue they are #1 right now.

VanillaTV have risen to the occasion at the last minute and will be bringing you a star-studded international extravaganza with eXtelevision’s  Salamancer, our homophonically amphibian friend from across the pond, who will be joined by our very own Admirable on the mic and Comedian on the streaming duties.  Turn on, tune in and drop out shortly after 21:00CET.

Galant — While there is not so much news in the euro scene, here in snowy Russia we have some action.  TF2World.ru has launched a Russian TF2 league. With more than 40 teams participating it is a great long-term event for russian scene. You can see the full current tables here: link.

But there is more!  We had TF2World Night Cup #5 last Thursday. It was called “New Year Special” and there are only snow maps: old (but still interesting) cp_coldfront, old version of  Byte‘s obscure – cp_obscure_final, and koth_viaduct. Tonight the final will be played. You can find the brackets here. In this match ISIS will meet HoverHands on cp_coldfront and cp_obscure_final with koth_viaduct as the decider.  Salamancer will cast this game for english speaking community, while TF2World TV will cast on russian, and a PoV by  Galant will be streamed live on competiTF TV.

The winner of this cup will get 100$.

Faint — With Crack Clan maybe a little out of practice as of late, and having lost to relic in the Semi-Finals of the Excello cup, will their lack of momentum hamper their performance? Epsilon on the other hand, seem to be back in form. Aside from their loss against Team Dignitas in the Excello cup last week, they have been going from strength to strength, and could cause a few problems for CC. That being said, the spanjews are no kid on the block any longer and have a map win against Epsilon in their bag already, from earlier in the season. Having lost their scout, Estanis, Blight’s Bash will be the substitute to try and teach the upper dogs a lesson.

The winner of tonight will secure a place  ETF2L Season 10 grand finals against Infused.tt this upcoming thursday, so tune in to VanillaTV Open Mic with ye olde TF2tv duo rejoice Pledge and d2m  casting, alongside Shrike on the stream to find out who will come out on top!
