ETF2L Nations Cup Final – Sweden vs Germany!

September 22nd Announcement
Tagged: 6v6 etf2l final germany Nations Cup

SuddenlyStarMia — Tonight on VanillaTV, we have for you the ultimate decider on who is the best 6v6 nation in the EU – yes, that’s right: it’s the ETF2L Nations Cup final! We’re gonna see  Germany duke it out against  Sweden here for €500 of prize money and bragging rights, with the runner-up receiving a measly €350 in a best-of-three match (with possible heavyweaponsguy melee-ing). Established runners-up  Sweden have had a flawless performance so far, picking three easy wins in the group stages and 6-0’ing all their matches in the playoffs against  Norway,  Wales and  Finland. However, the rookie  Germany have not dropped a single map in this tournament either, sweeping away  Italy,  Denmark,  Russia and defeating the defending champions,  England, in the semi-finals to progress through. Either way, we are in for a pretty thrilling game tonight, with both teams boasting strong rosters for this game, with plenty of players from the top-level teams participating to represent their country: the scout pair from Prem-winners/the-best-team-in-the-world,  Epsilon, look lethal on Germany’s side, however there is a lot to be feared in Sweden’s Zebbosai/ryb combo from the former  broder in the sheer amount of damage these two can force through.

We caught up with one of these players, superscout  basH for a few quick words before tonight:

basH: We weren’t really preparing for this match but with this lineup, there should be no problems. I still hope for a nice match since Sweden made some nice scores against other countries.

In the meanwhile, high-damage soldier  Zebbosai has this to offer:

Zebbosai: My first time pocketing since lan :D
Zebbosai: Well I did vs Finland too, I guess
SuddenlyStarMia: How do you think Sweden will fare tonight?
Zebbosai: I think we will win
SuddenlyStarMia: Why do you think you’ll win?
Zebbosai: We are better
Zebbosai: Simple :D

Some confident words from Zebbosai there, let’s look over at the rosters:

France clearly have the stronger roster in this match-up, with the exception of the battle of the Demomen between kaidus and Kounaa. The French players, whether they are in mixes or as part of a league, famously play together extensively, so they have the teamwork and experience to take a convincing win tonight. However, if England can pull it out of the bag, it will certainly be an impressive display – can kaidus’ damage carry them to victory?

Tune in to VanillaTV tonight from 21.15 cest with Admirable and Pledge, with Arie controlling the camera.

France finished top of their group, unsurprisingly, having not dropped a map, finishing on the maximum 12 points from the group stages. Portugal finished 2nd in their group behind Belgium, who were the only team to beat them in the group stage. France have an experienced Prem-level lineup, featuring the likes of Captainhax and ex-Punchline scout duo Plapla and Flippy. Portugal have their share of talent;  Haunter is a name everyone who hasn’t lived under a rock for the past 6 years should recognise, and  kiler4fun is pretty good at clicking on people too. With heavy hitters on both sides, this could be a close game.

Join Pledge, Skully and Arie tonight from 21:15 cest as always!

Ireland are yet to play any games in the Nations Cup, so I can’t really judge how well they might do against big names such as  Mike and BoneS. Ireland have some well-known faces of their own, including the forehead himself, Admirable, along with audio-purist atmo. Wales have a perfect record so far, playing their one game against the mighty Denmark (no Danmark vinder this time!) and managing a close 5-4 victory.

VanillaTV will be covering this battle of the titans with Byte and Skully on the mics, along with Arie (or maybe Jon) on the camera, so join us from 21.15 cest to watch the action unfold!

July 21st Announcement
Tagged: 6v6 cup ESA ozone

beach — That’s right, we’re back again with coverage of this week’s ESA Cup, this time with the exciting addition of several unlocks:

These will surely make for an exciting tournament; it will be interesting to see which teams use the unlocks, and indeed what effect they have on the game, if any. Bombing soldiers with the Black Box may seem ridiculous, but bearing in mind the 3 rocket clip, maybe the combo won’t work quite as well as some people may think!

This tournament will start later than the other ones, as the semi-finals have been reduced to a BO1 format, so check-in starts at 15.45 cest and the tournament itself starts at 16.45 cest. The top 8 teams will receive a share of a £100 prize pool into their ESA account, and players who don’t have a Premium account can still compete for the Ozone Rage ST headsets.

Join our wonderful team of casters, so far including Haydn, Pledge Skully and Eydok, and our streamers Arie and Rinta from approximately 16.45 cest to catch all the action!

To find out more information, head on over to the VanillaTF2 article, or the ESA website.
