This match has strangely gone under the radar, good thing Valve likes to post stuff on their TF2blog. So here we have another Pub vs Pros. event, pitting 9 2fort 24x7ers vs some TF2 pros that have seen and done it all. In this case, the pros team is basically eMg, the recent ESEA LAN champions. The prizes aren’t exactly spectacular but this game is about having fun, right? Anyway, on to the details;

Well, it’s around that time again! Apocalypse Gaming (AG) has partnered up with our 6 vs.9 guy “Cerious” to bring you the “Winter Wasteland” Pub vs. Pro event, January 8th at 7:00EST. The current ESEA champs, eMazing Gaming (eMg), will be playing head to head with the pub stars for the title. To keep the 6 vs.9 tradition, AG will award one person from the winning team a maximum prize of a $60.00 steam game of their choice!

Pubbers: TBD

Pros - Team eMg

The two teams will duke it out on CP_Badlands, PL_Upwards and KOTH_Viaduct.

Event Details:
Date/Time: January 8th / 7pm EST (Please see this for your local time)
Mumble: dal.eoreality.net 64754
STV: connect ag.eoreality.net:27020

For more info, head over to the Steam forums thread as well the EOreality page.

May 9th Matches

That’s right, we’re up for yet another round of Pubbers vs Pros. Not much change has been put into this version, only the use of different players on either side of the playing field.

The main lineup for the pros (and hopefully the one playing on the night, unlike last time) are:

  • Scouts: dignitas/bybben + “maybe” TCM|zerox
  • Soldiers: cube.idk? + WeMadeFux Evil
  • Demoman: TLR|Thy
  • Medic: TCM|Byte

Once again this has been organised by myself, Shintaz and pretty much sponsored by the guys down at Fakkelbrigade (big thanks once again). With the previous two being hugely popular with the public community and the competitive community alike, we’re expecting even more numbers and another great mumble cast (full details aren’t available as of yet).

This is only the introductory article, interviews with both the pub and competitive team are to come. I wish both teams good luck, but in all honesty, like the rest of the world, want the pubbers to win (whoever they may be!).

For other details and to give the pubbers a good luck, check out the thread over on Steam Forums.
