It’s that time again. Here are a couple of panel list round up arguements:

Kaidus

If you don’t play you don’t get paid, and the same can be said for how my rankings fall onto paper once again this month. Last time around a lot of jaws dropped at how some of the numbers turned out, but would you really prefer to see the same top five month in month out based on the reputation of players who’d rather opt out of every competition this month? I’d hope not.

Admirable

Ah I find my usual rhetoric of money talks troubling me again this month. ButtonBashers and Epsilon eSports scooped the big dough from under the Frogs noses at MaxLAN, and yet both teams fucked it up in the ESH. Granted ButtonBashers came up against a resurrected TCM-Gaming side eager to prove a point, but Epsilon were a shadow of their former selves losing to upstarts, Blame.

A Catch up of Everything EU in TF2 this March:

Hey guys, it’s your favourite sell out back again with the return of my weekly summary series. Except this one is slightly longer because of the recent lack of activity in between season. Here is a copy of my latest article from MyGamingEdge:

European Team Fortress is picking up again with ETF2L week one being underway, the first round of Nations Cup qualifiers going ahead and the ESL preliminary seedings coming out too. Here is a quick catch up on everything that has happened in March:

Note: I’m crossposting this week old article from mygamingedge.com – a few things have happened since then (TCM and Blame played their game – 5-0, 4-3 and idk? and Eternity folded).

ETF2L’s Season 9 has kicked started this week, with Badlands and a surprising choice in Warmfront (an “improved” version of Coldfront). These teams know Badlands inside-out, but most teams have struggled to find time to practice the unfamiliar Warmfront. The map could throw some upsets, though most of the games seem to be one sided affair.

In all bluntness: The higher divs are going to hell :) Not many weeks after teaming up with the new MGO Vital gaming, the former artists known as “Blame” hit the Summer barrier. What happened? Baerbel explains:

We just felt that it was time to move on, we had different aims, some wanted to play more some less. We are parting ways with good humour.

VanillaTF2: What are you gonna do?
No idea, i for one will enjoy the summer :) And not be inside too much.

If this writer recollects the tables correctly, this leaves div2 with 5 teams in each division.

One of the team’s biggest TF2 success stories, their “blame fail movie” made by Baerbel:

Blame have been around for a while, establishing themselves as a solid division 2 team. Today vital-Gaming announced that Blame have joined their ranks. Maybe this new backing can give them the motivation to break into the top of division 2 and onwards. Only time will tell.

vital.baerbel:

Upon being approached by devvo for vital gaming and after some long discussions we were more than happy to sign up for this new MGO, considering the managements previous experience’s and dedication to e-sports as a whole, we hope those qualities plus many others will help us to improve as a team so that we can keep progressing through the divisions and one day challenge at the top level of the TF2 scene.

Hidden gems in the art of Frag Movies

May 1st Movies
Tagged: blame demoman fracture frag movie gem

A frag movie is in many ways similar to graffiti – a way to show off one’s skills within the game.  But often, lost in the grind of including everything the player found impressed himself: The main goal of a frag movie should be about entertaining the viewers. In this small showcase of frag movies, I decided to take a look at some under appreciated/forgotten hidden gems of frag movies.

First up, Our friend Baerbel set off to make a movie for himself. It might not impress many. And, it might show signs of “my first video editing thingi”. But in the midst of that, a highly charming, entertaining, and ultimately very intuitively paced insight into the a humble life of  German TF2 player. – released yesterday.

The last night of my culinary travels around the city of Valencia (Spain), I was dragged against my will into the worst restaurant I could imagine. Lit by flourecent ceiling lights, a wallpaper like the puke of an early 90′s MTV music video, and a cubic meter of rude hermaphroditic waitor (honestly) to take our orders. Who could have predicted the meal to be absolutely world class fine dining?

The following frag movie is similar. Forget about the Ray Charlesed colour correction, the 90′s overused extacy music – The frags, prediction, and pacing of this movie are worthy nothing less than those of world class fine dining. -Featuring the soldier Traxantic, edited by himself and Aron, released November 2009.

The next movie, featuring TF2′s answer to Maradonna: Chode. In 2008, The notorious superstar led the legendary Clan Fracture through epic games still talked about, only to ragequit the internet shortly after the team’s break into division 1. With a music choice only appealing to a small fraction of his viewers, the movie stands as a testament to one of TF2′s most stubborn renegades – and, just how far the game has progressed in the past 2 years. Due to the lack of good streams, a movie known by many, seen by few can finally receive the glory it doesn’t deserve. -Released sometime 2008

Do you know of any hidden gems that have been long forgotten, or just never broke through? Send us your tips. Stay tuned tomorrow, for a look at some of the non-frag movies that deserve a second look!
