beef — After keeping everyone waiting for 2 weeks in true team fortress fashion, the top Division 1 teams, SNSD and  Colony, are set to go head-to-head tonight at 21:00 CET! The match will be covered live by VanillaTV with  Hildreth and  Agro casting, and  Comedian streaming.

This is probably the most ‘classic’ matchup in competitive tf2 with the first issue going back to a ladder game in August 2010, finishing in a close draw. It’s interesting to note that the current line-up for Colony differs only in 2 places, while SNSD’s line-up has changed in all but 3. Since then these teams have developed a habit of meeting each other in finals with SNSD coming up on top, and Colony developing a forever second syndrome. Some players to watch will be Colony’s  furbo known for his sneaky scouting and SNSD’s  Kaidus making his Highlander debut or  Linus and  Zoob, probably the best soldiers in Highlander.

To mark the first clash of these 2 titans in S2, there will be a competition for the stream viewiers to compete in. The goal is to guess how far each team gets in their first attacking round, and how long it took them (MM:SS). A whopping £25 prize will go to the viewer who submits the closest time for both teams, to enter just comment on this post on VanillaTF2.

 Hildreth – It’s been a couple of months since the end of ETF2L’s inaugural Highlander season but this week it all starts up again with 6 weeks of 9v9 action to go between Season’s 11 and 12, making it a busy period in the TF2 calendar. So far we have over 200 teams signed up for season 2 at the moment with SNSD the current holders and still yet to be beaten although Colony cut it close with an exciting finale in the first ever Experimental Highlander cup. To add to this ETF2L have a cash prize pool of up to £1000 (courtesy of an anonymous Highlander loving donator) for the winners and second placed team in the newly formed Premiership for the top level teams, to add extra incentive to those to practise and beat SNSD – I don’t want to see another gold medal parading on  TheSucker’s chest, do you?

Hildreth —  Whilst the amateurs from 6v6 are in mid-season, the real “pros” in Highlander are just warming up with ETF2L hosting their first ever  pre-season experimental cup focused on testing different maps. We saw just over 40 teams fight it out in 3 skill brackets playing on pl_Barnblitz, cp_Foundry and cp_Upland, the latter being created by  Mark. The Lower bracket was won by new team  Gibs’R'Us whilst the Mid bracket was won by Division 4 side  GFM Highlander team which leaves us with the business of the final for the Highest bracket…

Faint — Ladies and Gents, tonight is the invite final of the Excello ZOWIE TF2 Challenge II!

With Team Dignitas coming out on top in last nights 3 map (almost 3 golden cap) thriller against Epsilon eSports, they get to face up against Relic who beat  Crack Clan in the other semi-final last night, all in aid of winning the coveted 6x ZOWIE P-TF Mousemats on offer.

Both teams had convincing wins in their quarter-final games vs. CKRAS Gaming and                Team Yoyotech, and look set to try and show that they are back in form and can be known as the #1 team in europe, a ‘title’ that Epsilon seem to have hung onto for the last couple of months.

The action kicks off at 21:15 CET and VanillaTV will be covering the match with AcidRenix and Beta casting, and Comedian on the stream.

Also covering the action tonight is n2otv, and finally TF2World.Ru TV who will have Salamancer casting.
