Complexity Drops Team Fortress 2

Complexity Gaming, the prominent MGO of North America, has decided to stop supporting Team Fortress 2. Effective immediately, coL has released their TF2 roster. In it’s glory days, coL.TF2 went on undefeated rampage and was arguably the best TF2 in NA and one of the best in the world. coL actively supported it’s TF2 division and was one of the main teams which attended the ESEA LAN every season. Tragic event indeed and a huge blow to the North American TF2 scene.

Today we have decided that the time has come to release our Team Fortress 2 division.

Over the past couple years we have greatly enjoyed working with our TF2 gamers and participating in the community. We’d like to thank everyone who played for us during this period, with a special shoutout to Carnage who has been leader of the squad for some time. He will be remaining in the organization and assisting us with different projects.

Complexity.TF2 was -

  • Daniel “Carnage” Sturdivant
  • Carl “enigma” Yangsheng
  • Kyle “relic” Mims
  • Randy “blackymonster” Besserman
  • Richard “sweater” Klekar
  • Mike “Platinum” Miles
  • Dustin “smaka” W
  • Mithun “animeman” Balachadran

Here’s hoping an MGO steps to the plate and takes coL’s place. Best of luck to all involved!

And…

I had a fun time playing with everyone, I met a lot of cool people. Good luck to all players/teams in the future. I am done with “competitive” tf2.. im sure i’ll play a few pugs from time to time but don’t have the time to obligate myself to the game anymore – carnage

Update: According to oPlaiD

The team isn’t dead, they’re getting rid of Carnage and Relic and Smaka is leaving but the rest are sticking together and putting together a new lineup

The juggernaut MGO Complexity has decided to F5 their TF2 roster. Removing some and then subsequently adding some. The latest line-up sees the beastly TLR and Justin parting ways, as well as the cat-obsessed healer – TheFragile, waving the goodbye. Platinum, Blackymonster and Sweater will be taking their respective places. Last time coL.TF2 revamped their roster was in August 2010.

The Syndicate is pleased to announce our new Team Fortress 2 roster for 2011.  After enjoying much success during the duration of the squad it was decided that we needed some new faces for the new year in order to continue the championship tradition of coL.TF2.  We’d like to thank the outgoing players and welcome the new stars of the team!

Complexity TF2 2011 Roster -

  • Daniel “Carnage” Sturdivant
  • Carl “enigma” Yangsheng
  • Kyle “relic” Mims
  • Randy “blackymonster” Besserman
  • Richard “sweater” Klekar
  • Mike “Platinum” Miles
  • Mithun “animeman” Balachadran

Good luck to all involved!

With the ESEA Season 8 registration drawing to a close I travelled over to the land that is pug.NA to speak to a few of the North American players on what’s taking place in regards to rosters switches and first opinions on the teams that will do well this time around.

<atrox_> I was just wondering if I could get a comment on the new coL roster and what’s going to happen to your previous team blight?
<coL|blackymonster> well, the new coL roster is myself, sovereign (sweater), platinum, relic, carnage and enigma
<coL|blackymonster> my previous blight team is trying to get a new soldier and medic to replace myself and platinum

he also added when asked if there was any specific reasons for the org switch

<coL|blackymonster> not gunna talk about that
<coL|blackymonster> nothing to do with organizations :)

Update: Pirate radio will cast this! with  Darn and  Torden!

Update: TCM’s Skinnie says in comments: “col line-up updated, they have 6 rostered players so game is on“. Meanwhile, the change of computers means Torden lost the fb-radio mumble admin rights. With Arie still on vacation, there’s hussle in the works to try and fix a cast for this. Stay tuned!

The ubercharge tournament has been going in quiet yet steady pace through the Summer. Now things are starting to get interesting, as only 5 teams out of the 160 remain. While Dignitas, Broder and Epsilon already made the cut to the semi finals, TCM and Complexity is set to play the only remaining quarter final – and considering the teams’ prestige in respective continents, this could be one for the books.

However, there’s trouble. As could be read on this site earlier, Complexity’s roster this week is half new. Ubercharge is governing a strict policy of no mercs allowed, which isn’t uncommon for prize tournaments such as this. That could mean the end of this game even before it’s even played. On IRC, tournament admin Bpf explains:

We can’t, we can not force all time long all teams to play with their registered lineup and then say “oh that’s coL, they are allowed to change their whole lineup. Even if we would allow them to play with their new lineup they won’t have all theses players online tonight.

It should be added that Bpf is a representative and not the guy who makes the rules – so no hating on him!

In the meantime, here’s an unofficial petition to get this match played:

Do you want the Col vs TCM Ubercharge game to be played, even with unsigned players?

Complexity Unveils New Line-Up

August 20th News
Tagged: coL complexity NA tf2

After much (forced) suspense, Complexity, the ever popular MGO from the other side of the shore, has unveiled a refreshed Team Fortress 2 line-up. Although carnage already said he was filling in the shoes of Complexity’s Demoman Solid Snake following his departure, there was much speculation over who was going to take over the Scout spot. Well the wait is finally over and some surprises are in store for us all.

Today The Syndicate is pleased to announce some changes in our famous Team Fortress 2 lineup.  The squad, lead by Daniel “Carnage” Sturdivant, has enjoyed an impressive run over the past year including championships in ESEA, CEVO and Alienware Arena.  However, as time moves forward life circumstances and team dynamics change.  Thus, today we sadly announce that we are parting ways with the following three players.  We’d like to thank them for an incredible run which was highlighted by their hard work, dedication and loyalty.

Alongside Manny “Solid Snake” Sy, both Complexity’s roaming Soldier Michael “Jaeger” Marcin and Medic Brad “PYYOUR” Ross are calling it quits due to real life commitments. Replacing them are Nick “TheFragile” Leon as Medic, Tyler “TLR” Morgan for Soldier and Justin “Just1n” White as Scout. All three competed in the recent ESEA LAN finals, playing for blight.FANOM

Update: In the comment section, former Complexity medic Pure fills in some gaps:

I guess we should get some semblance of normality here. SolidSnake is done with coL.TF2 to not have to be around all the time and play demoman. He aliases as Old Snake now. Jaeger is done with coL.TF2 to pursue SC2 semi-competitively. I am done with coL.TF2 for a couple specifics reasons and will not be playing for anyone until a LAN. TheFragile, Justin, and TLR are all great players and will round out an already great roster.

Complexity’s refreshed lineup for 2010

Daniel “carnage” Sturdivant (Demoman)
Nick “The Fragile” Leon (Medic)
Tyler “TLR” Morgan (Soldier)
Kyle “Relic” Mims (Soldier)
Carl “enigma” Yangsheng (Scout)
Justin “Just1n” White (Scout)

Interestingly, looking at their ESEA page, Complexity still has Seagull and Lopert in their roster.

Big thanks to abhorrence for his contribution

The TF2 ecosystem is starving for content that will help the players and the community grow. Our goal at MGE is to do as much as possible to bring you the most up to date news, gossip, league coverage, video content and more.

Whether you are just getting started with competitive play or looking for that extra push to break through to the top level, My Gaming Edge is the place for you.

Currently all of the content is free, but there are plans for a “premium package” involving a subscription. Details on how much exactly remain to be seen, but if the content from these guys is regular, then I can’t see it being an issue.
