More teams are in the wind. This writer jumped to the guns in his favourite foreign language, ran it through Google translate and cranked it up to 11. Here’s the latest news.

Coolclan

We’ve written about the new Coolclan before. Now, things finally seem to be materializing. New additions are:

Seppo, who is back to ETF2L after a ban for racism (+6 months inactivity after). He’s got history from such div 1-and-a-half teams as Nervous, Delirium and K1ck.

Codcrille, former soldier for Broder, medic for Hboda, scout/sniper for Deliverance. He is perhaps best known for his performance in one of the Dignitas video blogs, in the role as himself.

Treigzak, former scout for Fracture, Animate, Übersexuals (won season 3), medic for the original Coolclan. Maybe even better known for his contribution to Team Norway’s epic 3rd place in last year’s nations cup.

The lineup already consists of Patriarch, Vaxjö, Illii and  Indey.

“teh Project”

bE has been missing in action for quite a while. The last nail in the coffin comes in the form of a new team called (you guessed it) the Project. Depch, Hekka and Adiemus still stick together, with the addition of 3 new faces. Fadestep (eSrael, POD/iG, Pentia), Waggish and Rude. The latter 2 come from lower divisions and shall be interesting to follow. Rising talents?

Team Empire

Best known for their proletarian-of-the-month, Kondor, the team is now looking set for a new adventure without him. Empire has been around for ages, last seen folding after just 1 match played in their div1 debut, Season 7. According to the team profile, their new lineup consists of:

  • Sys
  • Dronos
  • Mtnz
  • Rodef
  • Undertaker
  • Baklya
  • Bala

Exciting times as ever, best of luck to all of them etc.

Thanks to Evokje for the tips (you’ll get cookies if you make a whole article).

Since the folding of CoolClan, not a lot has been seen of Patriarch in the wider community. Earlier today, he added himself to the coolclan roster on etf2l, however it seems he is yet to be approved. Pat played demo in wotr3/wotr, before moving on to medic wotr2/coolclan last spring.

Notice also the tag in steam (along with Vaxjö). The former members of CoolClan had a joke like this going before, so it shouldn’t be a surprise if this is too. But, we’re happy at least to see Pat returning (?).

Thanks to Hippole for his find.

Speaking of old timers of the wotr, Konk even found his way back to IRC a few days ago. He was in the same wotr3 lineup as pat, back in season 3. He does however have no concrete plans of further clan play.

To give some completion to this small addition, Daf has already been mercing around the div2 scene for a while. His old soldier buddy Nos is still staying away from the scene, presumably to avoid the temptation of playing in between a very tight work schedule. Nos made a hilariously charming appearance in  Baerbel‘s small frag movie. We wish him, and the rest of the guys the best.

Update: You know you have juicy information when the person you just talked to denies everything he just said. In the interest of keeping it clean, here is a full log file from our conversation today. For the sake of order, I’ve included the actual log files. The convo of relevance is in the bottom. Joke or no joke, It’s depressing to see something as (lets be honest) unimportant as TF2 will lead to certain people lying, with the unbelievable bigotry of accusing the other part for lying. Poor behavior, Paul.
>>>IRC, Evil log file

What Women Want are at the stage of emergency, and like every fall of a top team, the former competitors are keeping close eyes.

As confirmed by Slick, they’ve wished to get Predz back ever since he left them before the season (to join www). This would mean a reunion with Jh, resurrecting the scout duo that raged mayhem a year ago in WotR.  Idk has also mentioned their interest in  Wltrs and  Vaxjö. According to Slick, the alleged CoolClan reunion is a joke. Shame, everybody loves CoolClan.

TCM aren’t resting on their laurels either.  Evil has been spotted doing some serious talk to TCM-manager,  Xman. Anonymous sources have confirmed to us, that those talks were indeed a clan proposal. Meanwhile, rumor tells a story about Coinz shattering his glass table mid game, due to an arguement with Haunter. Yaouch, serious biz, TF2. Evil contacted us personally, curious to why we would ask Skinnie if Evil was gonna merc for them (as seen in last night’s top matches):

[13:41] <Evil^_^> why did u suggest that i was playing for tcm?
[13:42] <Evil^_^> just wondering how u came up with my name

[13:54] <Evil^_^> i’ve not played with them once
[13:54] <vanillaTF2> i heard you were playing with em the other day?
[13:54] <Evil^_^> that was a mix team
[13:55] <Evil^_^> with me and josh
[13:55] <vanillaTF2> (when) are you gonna trial for them, then?
[13:55] <Evil^_^> going for a run
[13:55] <Evil^_^> cy@

Word has yet to be heard about what Jones and  Bash are doing, but one could expect bash to be focusing on Star Craft 2. At any rate, a fold has not been announced yet, and we commend the team for keeping getting strong results on ESL and ETF2L. In other news, former TCM-stars,  Light and Stealthy have been spotted playing several mixes lately. One could only hope they find the time and interest to get back to this wonderful game of ours.

At any rate, we wish the best of luck to the teams and players mentioned!

A few of you have picked up on the lack of stability in the star lineup of  What Women Want. Inside sources tell the story of Dunc being highly vocal in his discouragement of the team “under performing” vs “lesser” opponents. As well as Jones agitated from being verbally abused over a long period of time. To make the pain worse, a hit to the team’s ego with the losses to FB, as well as an overall lack of motivation due to getting tired of the game.

With this is mind, looking at the steam profile of Wltrs gives a strong indicator that the fold might be imminent, and that indeed Coolclan is coming back! Furthermore, his old scout buddy Vaxjö‘s steam profile shows the same promise – with him going back to his old coolclanian name, “Pizza”. One would think that this might have connection to the “Second to last” team found on ETF2L last week.

We hope for more details soon, and wish the teams and players good luck.
