Greg — It may actually be happening; the ever prophisied news that I can never pin my hopes on… North American teams might actually be coming to a European Insomnia Series event.  I am always going to be skeptical regarding this sort of news, because of the dynamics of eSports.  How many times before this June have we heard leaked news and “all but confirmed” information that a U.S. Team Fortress 2 team will be crossing the Atlantic to compete in England?  I don’t think anyone has forgotten the escapades of Catman and Qun with their prodigious events – CatmanLAN and AmsterLAN.

This time however it looks as if Multiplay will help answer the EU vs. NA debate that has always fluttered above the heads of the TF2 6v6 community.  At this point, I want to tip my hat to the community members behind this initiative – The eXtv boys ( Extine,  Salamancer and Shadowpuppet in particular) and the support from Multiplay (mainly Tapley).  I am not here to speculate of the likehood of seeing our American friends in Telford, I shall leave that to the community.  I am here to discuss trials and tribulations the North Americans will have to overcome in the differences between the ESEA Playoff LAN, and the biggest Team Fortress 2 LAN in history.

Trell — So, as promised (I know the last post title was misleading), here is the information that we have so far.  Group stages are set to start at 7pm UK time, 8pm CEST.

Noted by each game is the one we plan to cast in each ’round’.   Comedian and  Pledge are on site to guide you through the games, and out stream setup is live right now.

Dentist — Now the dust from insomnia43 has settled, all of the video production has now been completed including the TF2 Video on Demand! For those of you who missed the live stream or simply want to relive the action, you can check out the VoD here or head on over to the Multiplay Forums for a full list.

Torden — 2 unsung heroes for coverage were Bones and Cube, working tirelessly throughout the lan to bring us video coverage. Bones felt some frustration, as while the camera brought some fantastic 1080p crisp images, it meant a pretty mean rendertime, and their computers hogged for productivity.

That may very well be sorted the next time by bringing an extra computer for rendering, but in the meantime good things come to those who wait. First off, an interview with lan champs F2 and Slick, before the finals.

Leftism — Fresh from his i43 adventures, dunc has been kind enough to share with VanillaTF2 his thoughts on the biggest TF2 LAN event to date. With much to discuss, dunc’s not holding back any comments as he dives straight into the talking points. Hope you’re sitting comfortably – this is a good, long read!

dunc — ShoX and I travelled down to Telford on Friday at 10am. The 3.5 hour journey from his place of work in Darlington ended up taking (including a stop) 7 hours. Jesus Christ, I hope this LAN is going to be worth it…

Martn — Well played TF2 Community, well played. Especially a big heart goes out to  Epsilon,  Infused,  Admirable,  Arx,  Beta,  Byte and  Comedian. You guys put on a great show! We also like to thank you, the viewers, you guys make all this worth doing! We would also like to thank everybody who donated, it has been/will be put to good use.

Behind the scenes we also had  CUBE, BoneS, Trell,  ShoX,  Youngblood,  Leftism,  Xerxes, last but not least Torden and a whole other army of human people doing small jobs. Please do give them some recognition, they really deserve it!

We would also like to take this moment to ask you for your feedback. Spill the beans, speak out your heart. All the criticism, good or bad, we will take note and do our best to improve.

I got one atleast, we almost dropped the ball on saturday morning, we pretty much did nothing, when there was a lot to do. Wake up VanillaTV we need to get on the ball! Let’s make damn sure it never happens again!

Martn — It’s Sunday morning, the Team Fortress 2 tournament at the Insomnia Gaming Festival for Summer 2011 is almost over, every match has been played, except the final. By now we know  Team Dignitas came up short with it’s mix of old and new age members, ending up at the fourth place and that TCM Gaming, just like last year, ended up third place.

We also know that there have been another 44 teams eliminated, but it not about that, it’s about the final, the grand final between  Epsilon eSports and  Infused.Tt. The one question on all of our minds is: Will Infused.Tt be able to do, what Epsilon eSports almost managed to do last year?
