A blast from the past, here’s the match between HRG and iM as played at the i49 LAN. Post produced with commentary by eXtine.
After a week of public voting, we are now able to release YOUR i49 All Star team!
We had over 250 votes in each category, of which some are very close and only separated by a single vote. You would of seen two great articles released regarding damage input, did that sway the results?

Firstly an apology and correction. Due to Mike’s habit of off class mercing for random teams at Lan and playing Epsilon games using different steam accounts he wasn’t given the full credit for his damage in part 1. Taking this into account I can now correct part 1’s DPM figures, Mike does in fact have the highest damage output of any soldier at i49 regardless of heals (although still behind the top Demos). I can only beg forgiveness for portraying Mike as anything other than supreme.
War’s figures don’t get any correction, I checked those enough the first time round.
Whereas part 1 focused on damage and healing, this article will focus on kills and related stats.
comp.tf collating all the links, thanks Kaneco & co) by looking at the performances of the 8 seeded teams in more detail using a custom log parser and collating all their data together. I apologise to EV, but as we shall see not every member of the team should hang their head in shame, just most of them. Now that the dust has settled on the greatest international tournament in TF2 history, and as an interested observer, I thought I would add a little bit of depth by analysing the data from the logs (made easy by
The logs analysed are from the invite group stage and the knockout rounds. As each team played a varied number of maps I’ve usually looked at per-minute stats as the fairest way to present data.
In this article I’m mostly looking at damage and healing, so without further ado….
Well what a fantastic weekend! With a spectacular final, being the icing on the cake.
So who really stuck out for you over the weekend? Who was the key player?
Below we have created who we believe would make the best current 6 player TF2 in the world. Let’s not stop there though, we also have a Poll to help us decide!
I started writing who I believe to be the pick of the bunch but considering we are all well opinionated on this matter, I thought I would let you have the pick.
Below there is a simple poll to work out who is the best of the best. I will post up the results at the end of this week.
With every LAN there is a aura of what things went well and some things that didn’t succeed so much. This LAN being the biggest LAN to date in relation to top TF2 teams coming across the globe, we should take a step back and see what was delivered and what wasn’t.
Good – Attendance
The attendance was slightly less than last years, but the main thing that stood out was the amount of top teams entering, and along with where they have come from. HRG coming from America and Team Immunity all the way from Australia, not to mention the top four European teams coming down:
frenchies, Infused, TCM (aka Broder), Epsilon E-sports. This made it a heavy boxing fight for the title, but also let’s not forget the other teams competing who have come to play for fun, major part of TF2 at any i-series.
a youtube playlist for your convenience. With i49 over, I finally have time to actually watch the matches. All the day 1 VODs have now been released on our youtube channel and they’re in
