Crasp — In this second interview I spoke to ESL’s main man when it comes to TF2: Anakin.

I must admit, Anakin is one of my favourite admins within the TF2 community. This little interview series began after I’d asked Anakin a bunch of things aboot ESL to satisfy my own curiosity and help me understand the workings of ESL while not being part of the admin team. Many thanks to Anakin for his co-operation in this little chat!

The man himself, in what looks to be a thread discussing Wire.

June 14th Interviews

It’s been a couple of lazy weeks in the world of VanillaTF2.org. Meanwhile, a few interesting interviews are out. Here they are, in inverse chronology.

idk? – Onlinegamer.se

An interview done by Morf.

Could you all please introduce yourselves briefly for the readers?

Extremer: – ”Hi, I’m Extremer from team I Don’t Know? and I play to win. That’s why I use the Gaming Glove© to provide me with the necessary conditions to win.”
F2: – ”I have played medic for 3 months in idk now. I also played medic for 6 months in Imperial but that’s a long time ago!”
Shintaz: – ”Hello, I’m Shintaz. I’ve been on and off TF2 since the release and I scout for the lovely team idk?”
wai: – ”Hi I’m wai, I’m 23 years old from Wales and I play soldier for idk?”

Since you were going through lineup changes before and in the beginning of the last ETF2L season, what were your expectations on yourselves in that season?

Extremer: – ”We had a really tough time in Season6 with all the lineup changes. We tried fixing that before Season7 started and I think you could say we succeeded. With the new stable lineup we expected to be around the 4-5th place.”
F2: – ”Last season we struggled a lot with lineup changes so I hoped we could do better this season. Last season we got 13 points and after our first 4 matches this season we had 15 points so by then my goal had been reached. Anything higher than those 15 points would just be a bonus. I never expected that we’d end top3. But when we won the ESH cup mid-season our expectations got higher.”
Shintaz: – ”Technically, I am a lineup change. After Slick persuaded me to come back full-time (around half way through Season 7) I don’t think anyone had the expectation that we were going to win.”

Casey (US medic) – Blight Gaming

An interview done by  Blackfog.

Casey is one of the top medics in competitive TF2, he has been playing with Evil Geniuses for quite sometime with reptile, destro, and cyzer. Recently he just up and left the team with EG scrambling to get grillz to medic for them. Now to hear Caseys response.

blight blackfoger: Now the community is wondering why did you leave EG?

Going into the LAN finals in Dallas, I was already contemplating retiring from comp. games in general. After the initial cuts involving Phelon and Syckness I was pretty upset and was ready to throw in the towel. I decided to play if Yaug and Phelon came back, which ended up happening… but things just didn’t click like they once did. With Destro going afk & Yaug not leading like he once did, it was very hard for me to get my head back in the game. The decision to leave came down to the fact that our team chemistry was not evolving in a positive way and I wasn’t having nearly as much fun as I did in the past seasons.

Torden – mytf2

An interview done by Peoplez

Hey torden, first of all thank you for the time you´re offering us… could you please introduce yourself to our readers?

Hello, I’m Sivert “Torden” Bakkeng, medic and captain for Broder (7 brothers who aren’t brothers) from Tønsberg, southern Norway.

Tell us a bit about broder, like how did you guys get together?

Broder officially formed this January, but it was in the works long before that. We had a lot of fun with team Norway last Summer.
We were many people clanless/on vacation, but decided to look into the possibility of creating a team. But we needed a scout (and eventually a soldier). So, it was a sleeper project for about half a year. But then Hboda folded, which opened up for some great players.
Ironically, there aren’t that many Norwegians left active in our team :p

On a personal level, after wotr I was quite tired of high level clan play. However, while I was clanless I got to merc for a few teams that showed me there are different ways of playing. I was offered good spots, such as last Summer’s TCM and this Winter’s idk? but, I didn’t like their game mechanics, and had a lot more fun trying to implement that of Dignitas with a new team of new and old friends.
