ETF2L Highlander Season 6 – Premiership Preview

March 4th Announcement
Tagged: etf2l highlander NA tf2

Hildreth — Who would have thought this time last year when SNSD were adding shelves to their growing trophy cabinet that India would be the new superpower in European Highlander? Well I may be perhaps exaggerating the influence of the sub-continent country but alas, a team bearing the international flag with their long standing esteemed nayak Pancake took the ETF2L crown and established themselves as the current best team in Europe. I am of course talking about Kill Switch who claimed this accolade with a win over Highpander in a DDOS affected Final and earning themselves a hefty 500 Euros to convert into rupees and pay their multi-national roster. 3rd placed side Itsallgood arguably gave Kill Switch a harder game than the final itself as they narrowly lost the regular season playoff match with the champions, earning a respectable bronze whilst former champions DAROUTOUTOU and SNSD came 4th and 5th respectively. Former runners-up Parrot Gapers dropped after one match whilst, Legolas were relegated via playoffs losing to Division  1 runners-up Stacked who finished behind Chessclub Techniques, both securing a Premiership spot for this season. Finally Sookie Doing Work, finishing 6th place did secure themselves another season in the top flight however amid some roster troubles they have folded and this leaves one spot available in the Premiership for Season 6.

So there you have a quick recap of Season 5 and how it impacts season 6’s proceeding, ultimately we have seen a rise in a “new generation” of teams in Europe with some of the old guard being knocked off the top and the rest being succumbed to history. The result of this is nothing short of fantastic, as between seasons we have seen the new established top teams building, the former champions reshaping their rosters to rise back to glory and new additions to Prem coming in with ambitions beyond avoiding relegation. To make up the numbers, the newest addition to ETF2L Prem is a challenge like no other for our resident European teams, the challenge of the Americans in the form of current UGC Platinum leaders  Electric Temptations putting out a side to try and snatch the intercontinental cash monies. Speaking of money, the prizes they are all fighting over will be a €1000 prizepool thanks to another anonymous donation (this league is floating with charitable rich sponsors) and courtesy of TteSports by Thermaltake, nine sexy Tt BLACK Gaming Mice will be won and handed out to the winning team alongside their slice of €500, with second place settling for €350 and third place getting to share €150 euros.

Excited? No?! What if I told you Admirable was playing Medic this season for one of the teams? Convinced now? I thought so…onwards to the previews!

Tip of the Hats: Day Two

April 14th Announcement

Admirable — Damn, son! Sundays have a real habit of just whizzing by, but here we are with less than an hour to go before the second leg of the Team Fortress 2 casting marathon fundraiser known as Tip of the Hats begins. The breadth and depth of the community has been visible with the incredible level of support displayed thus far.

The opening hour of public play was narrated by a gushing Seanbud, who confided in viewers as the totalizer climbed past $3000 that he had told himself a month ago that to reach $3000 would be a great outcome for the entire weekend. Imagine his face today with the total just shy of $22,000 at the halfway point! Absolutely incredible.

Yesterday’s everyone’s favourite ca$h money mage, Shitwizard, had been representing Europe hard, conjuring dollar bills like it ain’t no thang. Unfortunately European hopefuls, Crack Clan, couldn’t rally in time to reclaim the honour lost at i46 from the current North American #1, High Rollers Gaming.

Tip of the Hats: Day One

April 13th Announcement

Admirable — Friday’s journey through taste and hypertext left a lot to the imagination, so I returned today in a much more stoic fashion. Yesterday I was targeting your inner child, today I am feeding data in to your cold robotic gaming exterior; prepare for a presentation of facts that may interest you.

Tip of the Hats is the brainchild of Sean “seanbud” Stradley, the popular American streamer, Fully Torqued scout and all round nice guy. At its heart the event aims to raise funds for the remarkable One Step Camp organisation that gives children coping with cancer a chance to experience childhood and close community at camp.

At the time of my last post the totalizer was hovering around the $200 mark. As I clatter keys here today I see the total has rocketed past $2200… and the stream hasn’t even gone live yet. Stop looking all self-satisfied, Europe. This happened whilst you were asleep. I don’t think we can take credit for this one.

We might have lost to those North American hackers back in August at i46, but we can surely flex our monetary muscles today with a wave of donations. I’m issuing a challenge: double it! I want to see $4500 before the clock strikes midnight in Europe. If we come up shorter than a harbleu rocket jump, I think we might as well not bother showing up for i49.

Admirable — Team Fortress 2 players aren’t short of fundraisers to donate to with i49 just about visible on the horizon, but I’d like to bring one to your attention with intentions as pure as the driven snow… although the same can’t be said for the casters they’ve lined up.

Tip of the Hats is a fundraiser set to run on April 13th and 14th. All donations received will go to One Step Camp, a nonprofit organization that provides children coping with cancer the opportunity to experience childhood and close community at camp.

Straight for the jugular with the donate button. I’m ruthless, bitches, and I know you are bedazzled by the alluring blue button, but then suddenly see an array of mysterious links before you. Should you click them? Should you share them with everyone you know? Should you try and lick them on your screen? Yes! Yes! Yes!

ESEA Season 11 Invite Preview

April 9th Feature

Fog — With less than a day before the start of the ESEA S11 season, here is a preview of the teams and their rosters

Seeing has some of the rosters have yet to be set in stone, and not a single official match has been played with any of these teams, I will only focus on the teams, their off-season changes, and their potential ranking. I will not bother with making predictions and actual power rankings until the second week of the season.  With that being said, enjoy the ESEA S11 Invite Preview article!

There have been a lot of notable changes from the end of last season to this season, with notable players such as TLR, Mackey, CB, and TechDude no longer actively playing in competitive TF2 due to personal reasons or otherwise. Along with that, Area 51 Gaming TF2, The Experiment, The Spacewhales, and Blight TF2 have dropped off as team for this season. Replacing those four teams, we have the seemingly super-team that is Mihaly’s Flow, the return of Yz50 with Srsly Br0, Season 11 ESEA-IM 1st place winners Pinball Wizards, and ESEA-IM S11 4th place team and voted in by the community Leviathan Gaming. Of the teams that have stuck around, all of the rosters have some new faces, mainly from the remnants of the defunct teams. With the short amount of time between seasons and the new rosters not being fully in sync, expect there to be a lot of surprises in the first few weeks of the season.
