The first match in the OZFortress State of Origin 2 competition will see New Zealands team take on Southern Australias team in what should prove to be an epic match up

New Zealand is fielding a lot of semi retired players but they have plenty of experience between them so it will be interesting to see how they match up against the power house that is the SA team.

This match will be played in two 30 minute halves on cp_badlands so both teams will be well versed in the map so we should see some exciting action!

Join us in the STV and mumble (220.233.151.20:64738) or via the stream with your Gamestah casters for tonight, Greaver, Ivo and Gee!

Australia have taken down New Zealand 2-0, with Australia proving their strength keeping the the largly retired New Zealand team to just 2 caps over 2 maps. Big thankyou to all the players from both teams, the shoutcasters from gamestah.com, siege and bladez getting the STV’s sorted, wug for rounding up a fantastic nz team, and to all 500+ spectators!

Australia vs New Zealand, noon tomorrow!

Tomorrow night @ 8:00pm Australian EST (Sydney) (if we’re correct, this = 12.00cet), Australia will take on New Zealand in their first ever 6v6 clash. The Australian Team will contain the stars from ozfortress.com’s winter league series: 2 while the New Zealand Team will be a mixture of old and new as retired ysw players guest star for everyone’s viewing pleasure.

iPGN will be putting up 3 STV’s for the match:

• STV#1 210.50.4.30:27035
• STV#2 210.50.4.53:27015
• STV#3 210.50.4.53:27020

Ofcourse, such a clash will take place on the core TF2 maps:

• cp_granary
• cp_badlands
• cp_gravelpit (if needed)

The last time these two countries clashed was in the 8s version of the game, with NZ taking the victory. Since then alot has changed…

each map is played in an owl2 grand final format
(2 halves of 30 minutes/first to 4)

(maps cant end as a draw – “golden cap-out” must be used)

Lineup New Zealand:
Wug, Nomey, Gore, Antwa, Lottic, Slaught, Nignig (lol @ name)

It’s here! Australia vs New Zealand! Team selection for the Australian team derived from the div1 captains vote at the end of owl2… Arguably in TF2, a superstar team is probably better than a team of superstars, but this is a nice democratic way of coming up with a team . Over the ditch, esm.wug has stepped up and gone through his own selection criteria to put forward a very competitive New Zealand team.
