First off for legal reasons, I should try to make it clear I am not importuning here for some sexual adventure (much to the disappointment of my love reject
TheSucker) but rather introducing the name of the team I talked to this week, who have so far filled up that gaping hole in my week reserved for amusing anecdotes involving team names (see image below). With this cleared up I can get on with the business of pouring through hundreds of matches that have taken place in the past 2 weeks that I haven’t been here to watch come in from the sea of mass fixtures.
Division 3-6 Review #4 – Fancy a bum?
Division 3-6 review #2 – Predictions
It is term time again people; kids skipping back at School, University freshmen drunk off their faces, woeful weather back here in Great Britain land (still no Giant Panda at Edinburgh Zoo, it has been 3 years already!) but the biggest thing of all is the start of the new ETF2L season being announced. Season 10 is finally here (technically 11 but nobody counts AFS because
TCM won) with a whopping 312 teams in Divisions 3-6 for me to sink my teeth into. Elsewhere, Excello open ended so no news as the big boys take centre stage though as I type this article the only Division 3-6 player participating;
The Sucker saw his team fall victim of the emphatic
Epsilon, better luck next time champ. Wireplay brings along to the party 72 teams from Division 3-6, though the 2nd Division is equivalent of Division 2-3 in ETF2L in terms of skill. Nevertheless week 1 is well underway throwing up a ton of interesting games already and once again proving the spectacular dedication of the lower divisions with some teams already into their week 2 matches.
Week1 predictions anyone?
With few surprises since the provisional divisions, the season10 tables are locked and ready. The trigger for me starting this site in the first place, was in fact that I wanted to get back a place for weekly predictions. The usual manner is that they start relatively strong at the start of the season, then going downhill. So instead, I’d like to officially invite players and writers to sign up pr week.
-”Signing up”, as in, being the first to leave a message that you’ll be taking on the task in comments. With enough people participating, making this a consistent feature should be a breeze. The deadline for week 1 predictions will be 20cet this upcoming Sunday. The article should feature:
- the maps of the week
- the fixtures, including a small writeup pr entry
- predicted results and mvp
- community predictions by a few other people
I’ll kick it off by writing for my own division1A (I guess div1B would be more politically correct, but I’ll admit, I simply don’t know enough of those teams that well).
ETF2L’s season10: The signups
Signups for ETF2L’s season10 is officially closed. 382 teams are confirmed as signed up, you can find the full list of those here. If you are late to the party, all hope might not be lost, as you are still able to add your team to the waiting list. To the contrary of the previous season, this time around both premiership and division1 looks solid, with more hopefuls than what is space for. I’d like to officially abuse my influence and request pre season playoff showdown!
Meanwhile, here’s som initial impressions of interesting last minute movements:
Mister + K1ck = Crack Clan
Mister made smaller comeback this Summer, sporting team leader
Longas back from the depths of Brink and old compadres. Earlier today, the team chose to discontinue their league (re-) debut, in favour of Crack Clan. The product is essentially K1ck with a new name and medic, including 4 of whom won ESL’s premiership this Summer and a smoking hot application for ETF2L’s finest this season. The lineup:
Matnun (soldier)
Pescanova (soldier)
Psunfragga (medic)
Retshock (demo)
Harryhook (scout)
Estanis (scout)
Speaking Longas, reveals the team had been struggling with their lineup the past weeks, and no bad blood is between the teams/players after the split up.
Taimou (mister) and
Fadestep (k1ck) is currently seeking new teams.
The latest stuff + things
Carrying the torch for awful journalism, this post features a summary from me browsing a website, you fill in all the details! The pre season mating period is perhaps my favourite time for TF2, and it’s been long since as prosperous as now. Instead, The first spiked news comes in the form of a Sovjetan re:union, Eternity, the side that worked their way up to premiership in ETF2L’s season8, but folded before the delayed season9.
5 players have been added to their ETF2L roster, which by estimated guess looks like this:
Vad
gdk
Spicke
Waiz
Whiteglow
Blade
But, that’s only the start. Let’s indulge.
This is season 10
While in reality, only 1 and 1/2 team differentiates ESL and ETF2L’s premiership last season, the latter has a lot to prove in order to regain our trust as the standard framework for competitive TF2 (eu). By popular demand, the map pool has been reduced to 6 and unlocks limited to 4 in favour of the medic. Furthermore, divisions have been reduced to 8 teams. Hopefully, we’ll have reduced all those numbers to 1 by the start of season15. Meanwhile, here’s the current details!
Signups have already started, closing Monday, September 12th 23:59 CEST. Divisions will be announced on Sunday the 18th and Week 1 will start on Sunday, September 25th.
