beach — What a season it’s been ladies and gentleman, and what an epic final to round it off. First of all, let me say congratulations once again to Epsilon eSports for winning ETF2L Season 14 powered by Twitch and sponsored by Club3D. And commiserations to broder, the team who looked so strong in the final but just barely lost in 3 maps.

Get Matchticker’ed

November 27th Announcement
Tagged: matchticker vanillatf2

Trell — With the VTV overlay now utilising the matchticker to streamline the chore of making match overlays, now is as important as ever to keep the matchticker up to date. This is a shared effort between you (the users) and us (the other users). Here’s a reminder on how it works and, more importantly, what matches you should and shouldn’t be adding:

  • 6v6 Level: Official matches, Prem and Division 1 (EU), Invite (NA), Division 1 (OZ).
  • Highlander Level: Official matches, Prem (EU), top 5 (NA).
  • Rosters/lineups: Use a new line per name.
  • Final results: Use map wins, not league points. GC counts as regular map win.  For example, 2-0/2-1/0-2/1-2 etc.
  • How to get matchticker rights: Ask for it, in comments or on IRC. Team members in matchticker divisions can ask on behalf of whole team.
  • People who complain about missing or incorrect information: Edit it yourself, dumbass.

Once you have matchticker rights, you will also be able to upload demos to a specific match. Operating the matchticker is is a straight forward affair, but if you find your team/event/casters/map is missing, do get in touch. Many thanks for all the help with it.

VanillaTV: The Donate Button

March 22nd Announcement
Tagged: All The Moneys donations vanillatf2 vanillatv

Leftism — Last year, we had some very kind members of our community donate so we could cover our server expenses: in total we raised € 186,-. With € 90,- of that now spent on the box that hosts this website, all of you clever mathematics clogs can easily figure out how much we have left. For those who don’t have the gift of subtraction in their head: this means only € 96,- of the original donations is left.

Eventually – as with all money – this will deplete completely and we might be left without a webserver. At VanillaTF2/TV we’re looking to you, the kind members of our community, to donate any spare cash you can to keep us going, so we can continue to provide you with as many casts as we can.

Once again, we promise to only use the raised money for server upkeep, sending staff to LANs and for related purchases to help us expand and provide better quality coverage. We will continue to make these expenses publicly available, so you will know where your donations are being invested.

Skyride has been kind enough to implement a “Donate” button to make the donation process easier; you can find it just to the right of this post!

Once again, thanks for your continued support!

CUBE —  It’s been a while since I’ve written an update regarding the VanillaTV YouTube Channel, so here’s a news post to let you know what we’ve been up to and what we’ve got planned for the coming months.

Fragmovies of the Month

For any of you that haven’t seen, a couple of days ago we released a new series called VanlliaTV Fragmovies of the Month, which rates and reviews TF2 Fragmovies from the previous month and provides links to the full movies. The idea behind this is to help editors gain more exposure for their fragmovies and also to hopefully increase the quality of the fragmovies by giving new editors an idea as to what people look for in a fragmovie.

I want to give a massive thanks to  BoneS and  Skyride for helping me review the videos and since releasing the video, I have also been approached by decap and  FreezeR who will now be joining the panel to help rate and review in future months.

We’ve had some great feedback since releasing the video and will start thinking about which movies to review for February very soon, expect to see the February video around mid-March.

More updates after the jump…
